305/35/20 QUESTIONS

Hey guys i have a 2018 SS 1LE currently running the stock size 285/30/20 in front and 305/30/20 in the rear. Thinking about going with 35 profile all around. I do have the eibach pro kit lowering springs on the car. Just wanted to know if anyone has ran this set up and if there is any rubbing?

You will also rub the front lower spring perch with a 35 series tire.

I see that all my buddys with 1LE models that are lowered dont have any issues. Are the 1LE models that much different then the standard SS

Yes, the 1LE perches come out a bit futher. Go look at your stock 285/30 and check how close you already are to the spring perch, then add 15mm to the top of the tire, it will definitely hit. It doesn't really change anything that you're lowered as that doesn't change the spring perch height, just brings the body closer to the wheel.

Do "all your buddys that are lowered" have 6th gen 1LE's? The stock tire size on 5th gen is a 285/35/20.

I hope this is not the case, have a 18 ZL1 and just ordered 305/35r20 and 285/35r20 all season for the car. I will run it out to see if there is any rub issue. Moved rear wire harness as a safe guard.

You’ll probably run into issues regarding the front spring perch. With the 285/30/20 we are about 11 mm from the perch, and a 285/35/20 is 15mm taller than a 285/30/20

Those tire sizes for an all season. Are you running the BFG Comp 2 A/S ?

I believe there are a couple of people that posted on this forum that they tried those sizes and they had the rub. Could've sworn someone posted with pictures as well. I will dig deeper into this now..

Vader may not have problems with the front since he’s got a zl1 1LE and the spring perch is much smaller. However a 285/35/20 is nearly a 28” tire and the stock 305/30/19 is a 26.2” tire. That’s gonna rub somewhere.

Change to 35 profile resulted in no issues. Installed 285/35/20 and 305/35/20 BFG Comp2 All Season. After 250 miles in all conditions, no rub & no interference. Not even close to rear wire harness (although I relocated as safe guard), still tight pinky finger between front and strut flange. Really cushioned up the ride and lateral grip is very good in 17 degree and 40 degree wet. Put it in Weather mode and gave it heck, very impressed. All four mounted and balanced run about $850

Again, this is on the ZL1 regular, not a 1LE version

Thats awesome. Glad you like them. How does it compare with tire noise? Assuming your not in track mode all the time...lol

Good to know! What is your front offset? Stock ZL1 (non 1LE) offsets? Wondering if the SS guys will have issues due to smaller fenders.
