Transmission Fluid
Just curious. The user manual says to change the transmission fluid at 45,000 miles. Has everyone changed it at that time or are they like me with 60,000 and still the original fluid? And if you did change it did you go with GM recommended fluid or a different type?

I have an auto a8, but i did mine at 23k and then had the triple flush at 34k.
If you drive hard, evwn with a manual, if the reccomended is at 45k, id shoot for 35 to 40k. Changing it now would be ok and needed. Fluids are just lubricants and the loose their lube properties with time heat and wear.

Haven't hit the mileage yet to change it. Probably wont until 2020 unless i get a job that is further away between now and then.
Is it even possible to do yourself or does it require forced flushing? I forget if the auto trans has a way to fill from the top in this generation. |
