Custom Turbo build (V6)
Has anyone out there thought about or have already done a custom turbo build for the V6?

I purchased the exhaust gasket with the intention of having a couple of custom flanges made that can bolt up to the heads. A single turbo kit would be stupid easy since there is a ton of room in the engine bay. my thought is to build a crossover from each head to the turbo inlet and then dual outlet from the Dow pipe to both sides I have some stainless V-band clamp to connect them. I have a welder and lots of time. I think I can build my own for about $2500 as long as I can do the work myself.

The actual fabrication of a kit is very easy and basic. The problem will be finding someone to tune it and the trans. The aftermarket for the V6 is basically non existent and any person who tries anything is a test bed to see if it works or not.

Can the manifolds on the V6 be flipped from side to side? Are the flanges symmetrical?

Ummm... the 6th Gen V6 Camaros do not have exhaust manifolds. The manifolds are built into the cylinder heads which makes turbocharging even easier. This gasket fits between the cylinder head and the exhaust pipe that bolts directly to the converter. it also fits the turbine housing on the cadillac twin turbo engines.

Im installing a ECS supercharger kit onto a v6 cadillac CTS for a friend of mine from overkill. They make the exact same kit for a V6 camaro and I think they also offer a turbo kit for the v6 cars.
