Dealership Unresponsive

I never thought it would be so difficult to get a sales person to answer me! I have been talking with a dealership since October regarding a new 2020 Camaro. The dealership is 70 miles from my house (car has more options and is priced better than anything closer to me), so it's not easy to make it out there frequently.

I went to the dealership once, the sales rep rushed me through my appointment, and I have not been able to get a response from anybody at the dealership since. I have decided (and even convinced my wife!) that this is the car, but nobody at the dealership seems to want to make a sale.

I should also note that I live in the Midwest, and this car comes with Summer tires. I don't think it would be smart to drive 70 highway miles in 20 degree temps with the stock tires. The promotions going on during the winter I'm guessing are going to be better than anything that they offer come spring and summer next year, but don't realistically have a chance to get the car in these weather conditions.

Any advice on how to move forward with the dealership? I have emailed everybody up to the General Sales Manager with no luck. Is there a corporate contact that could provide support? I guess my biggest thing is I would hate to wait until spring to buy the car when it is listed $6k more than it is now.

Why not call their service or parts dept. and ask for Internet Sales they usually move things along faster then inept front desk clerks.

Question...does the dealership still have the car for sale? Maybe that’s the reason you can’t get in touch with the salespersons, but they should return your calls or e-mails and tell you that the car was either sold or still available!

Yeah I began dealing with internet sales, and once I went in for my appointment and had follow up questions, I emailed my original contact and they pawned me off to the sales rep. I have also dealt with 3 other internet sales reps who keep saying they are looking into my inquiries but never respond with any information.

The car is still for sale, it shows on their website and it was just updated with their December incentives.

Strange! If it was me I would do a search for another Camaro and pass on this dealership because it seems to me that they don’t want to deal and make a sale to you. Hey if a dealer doesn’t want my money then I will find one that does!

Why are you continuing to bother with them? Just go to another dealer closer to you with the printout of that car from that dealer. Work a deal with any dealer and they can get the car via transfer. It’s no big deal, all dealers do it all the time.

Time to move-on. There are more Camaros out there. No way I'd let them treat me this way. It's their loss, not yours.

Dude seriously are you brain dead for real, I'll call them and have them call you back, whats the number? Ask for the sales manager, general manager , or the owner.

No need for insults, just looking for advice on how to proceed. I've never found myself in a situation where a dealership wasn't calling me every day after I showed interest in a vehicle.

They probably think your kicking tires so to speak. Im not saying its ok for them to handle your inquiry that way but, it is what it is.

I’m not reading here why do you think it’s important to go to this dealership but let’s assume that they have the only car in the area and you want it badly.

Quit messing with everybody in the dealership and put a personal phone call, or better a personal visit, to the general sales manager or the general manager. Tell them you are ready to buy a car that they have in their stock and on the lot.

Dealerships hate email, in general, they respond so much better to a personal inquiry.
