Installed LED backup, license plate, and trunk lights. No pics on these, they look just like everyone else's.
Rear lens and marker reflector tint ordered from Big Worm Grafix, should be here in a few days. I went for it and got the dark ones (Charcoal) so we'll see how that works out. I also finally ordered MRR's M228 Z28 replica wheels which should also be delivered soon. I wanted them in polished but MRR discontinued that option so I decided on the Gun Metal finish. Also had to order TPMS valve stems and nuts, TPMS activation tool, and the MMR need their own lug nuts. Uggghhh... all that just to add custom wheels?!?!? Back in my day... I'm still deciding on tires but am leaning toward Nitto NT05's. |

Got the rear reflector and back up light tint from Big Worm Grafix in the mail today.
I knew I wanted the darkest (Charcoal) color on the reflectors, but wasn't sure about it on the white backup lights. Looks good, but maybe I should have gone lighter (Gunsmoke)? Time will tell. Last edited by TenSeven; 06-14-2016 at 12:16 AM. Reason: Added a pic |

Updated the throttle and brake pedals to brushed aluminum. Hopefully someone will produce an overlay for the dead pedal to match.
They look MUCH better in person, my photo skills remain lacking. Installation was very simple. The brake pedal just pulls off and the new one presses on (moving from right to left worked best for me). I didn't know the throttle pedal is replaced as a unit: The original is removed by popping off a rubber cover on the main housing, under which is a 10mm bolt. Remove the bolt, slide the now loose housing back about a half inch and it's out so you can move it around easily. Unplug the wiring, swap in the new aluminum pedal assembly, plug the wiring in, reassemble, and you're done. Nothing to it, the whole thing took me maybe 20 minutes. Installed a Rexing V1 dashcam today. I followed the excellent installation info by Night Vision Universe in this thread, worked great!

Well, my Rexing dashcam has suddenly begun to constantly shut off and restart while driving. I figured out that the power wiring in the overhead console was shorting out due to vibrations (brilliant of me, eh?) and needed to be readdressed.
The above linked how-to thread shows to twist the power and ground wires and piggyback them to the Purple-White (hot) and Black (ground) connector to cause the camera to power on/off with the ignition. Apparently something went awry with my installation. The twisted wires needed a much more secure connection in my case. I modified two spade connectors to create a tighter connection: Then clamped them down and secured them with shrink-wrap tubing: I re-piggybacked the wires into the overhead console and firmly secured them with a zip-tie to the wiring they are slaved to. ***ProTip***: While re-piggybacking the wires, don't drop the little blue plastic clamping bar. It might-just-maybe fall into the car's Carpet Monster and be a little hard to find. I discovered this the hard way... I then reinserted the various power plugs and reinstalled the overhead console. Seems to be solid and working great. We'll see how it all holds up... Last edited by TenSeven; 07-31-2016 at 04:11 AM. |
