Arrow ZL1 1LE vs 911 GT3 RS track battle video

Hi all, I wanted to share a track video of what the amazing ZL1 1LE is capable of - keeping up with the cars 3x the price. Just to help those guys that are on the fence for getting it. Do not hesitate. The whole package cannot be beat for the price and also very few competitors offer a manual transmission.

This was my second track day with the car, first one was at Sebring in the rain. Car is fully stock, 6MT and running GM track alignment and RBF600 brake fluid. I use 15w50 mobil one oil for track and driving around town (FL climate allows not to swap back and forth with 0w40). Before this car I had an M3 and M5. Non of the M cars are track ready out of the box as this one. The only drawback I noticed so far is the fuel consumption. 5 twenty minute track sessions resulted in 5 trips to gas station lol, as the car was eating nearly 3/4 tank EVERY session. So getting a 5 Gal gas can is a must, this way you can skip every second trip. Other than that, car is a beast.

I'm confused, I need the speedometer in Freedom Units...

Feels like the real battle here was traffic.

When I go to the track there is always GT3's and GT4's there. I can keep up and pass them at Big Willow, but they are going just a little slower than me. im not a racer though, but for an average track day driver this car is great on the track.
I did spank my old boss with the ZLE in his 19' Z06 though...

Sorry i'm originally from Europe, so KPH speed.
Yes that white Porsche Carrera S was holding me up for a few laps, otherwise I would have caught him, haha.

There was a GT4 in another session, that car is significantly slower, was even too easy. I guess the new GT4 RS that recently came out would be another story.

If you think the gas mileage is bad in these cars, you should see the GT500 and it has a small gas tank too.

So, a C5 Z06 with better brakes, suspension, and an LT1 or better in it? :-)

I've stripped over 500 pounds out of a 5th gen V6 in the past without having to gut the interior. It shouldn't be that hard to do to a ZL1.

Had a 520 rwhp 04 Z06 with a big brake kit. IMO it was a better track car then my ZL1.

Yes, my modded ZL1 would beat it down a long straight, but struggle to get slowed down cuz it's a fat pig, though a better chassis and suspension.

The 04 Z could go very deep in the corners and felt tossable compared to the ZL1, but that's about the only place I'd give the nod to a modded C5.

And every single panel and hinge would squeal and groan in agony lol

Chassis integrity on those early vettes is complete garbage compared to the 6th gen Camaro (Alpha). Even with superior power to weight it would still be completely destroyed by a 1LE on any roadcourse, there is much more to fast lap times than just less weight (although it certainly helps)

Look up the C&D Lightning Lap Every Car lap times and try to find a C6!

No question, but for the $ a hotted up C5 with a big brake kit is hard to beat for a dedicated track car. Everyday driver, not so much.

I've met C5 and C6 corvettes on track many times for the 15+ track days I had over the past few years. Not even one of them I can remember as being particularly fast. The C7 Z06 and Grand Sport is another story - those cars are quick.
