Reverse LEDs

One of my reverse lights went out, needs to be changed out. Figured I’d go the LED route while doing it. I’ve did a search and read some questionable things about the Phastek resistor and quality of their LEDs.

Any recommendations? Thoughts on the gen5diy or diode dynamics one?

Thanks

I run Gen5DIY harness on mine with Amazon LED bulbs, the harness is their new one. It's solid state and no resistors now.

I run the Gen5DIY pigtail/resistor on a Diode Dynamics LED bulb. Has worked great for the past 2 years.

I purchased the XPR bulbs (brightest ones, 90 bucks). They are super bright and work great with my 5% window tint.

Here is the harness from Gen5DIY....obviously this is for 2016-18 so if you have a '19 and up there's a different one. Just telling you what I've got.

IMO overpriced for generic LED bulbs that can be purchased cheaper. They visually appeared to be old school generic LED bulbs.

The harness is just plugged inline behind one taillight, correct? The picture looks like there are 6 connections

Yep, you get 2 Gen5DIY harnesses. 1 for each light and plugs in line.

I know my '20 uses a different kind of harness, but, I tried a cheap Amazon set, and they're working great so far. I felt like if I didn't like them, or they didn't work, I wouldn't be out much $$$, and so far, I'm pretty happy. I don't get to drive my car as much as many of you, so I can't speak to their life, but I've had them on the car since about 10/19 and have about 2800- miles on the car now, for reference.

I just installed these last week. My reverse lights are about as bright as the stock headlights.
