But I suspect that the casual buyer that sees it will most likely want an auto. I'm wondering if I should've ordered it with the 1LE as I think that would've made it even more "niche". Either way, I'm going to take delivery. I'll either trade my SS in (which is the more logical choice as the ZL1 will replace it) or I'll trade my truck in, which means I'll miss the utility but won't have to worry about an extra car payment. The funny thing is that the Chevy dealership hasn't offered me what the Nissan dealership has offered me as I went to one of those "get an instant quote from a dealer near you" things. They thought it was worth a bit more.

I want to give a thumbs up to Parks Chevy in Charlotte for selling me a Rapid Blue 1LE at sticker.NEVER dreamed I would be saying that. But after trying 3 other dealers who stuck with their OVER sticker i got lucky. Car will be shipped to Scottsdale in a few days.
Will be my 3rd one.

Anyone able to get a ZL1 with GMS or employee discount? It looks as though the GM site lets you build it and shows it as an available discount.

The GM site will always let you do it. Whether a dealer is willing to do it is the question. They make very little money on an employee discount sale.

I'm eligible for GMS but the dealer I ordered from is selling everything at sticker. I've read a few dealers will order at GMS, but not one in my area. I might end up getting $500 off.

I got the GM supplier friends and family price, basically equated to a little more than a 3k discount.

The first thing to do is to find a dealer that would accept it, I used Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City. the code is only active for a couple of months so I would suggest inquiring about getting the code for the discount closer to or after your order is accepted by GM. I can't give codes as I am not an eligible employee, but I did contact this guy gmmerc5 who is on another forum that another member (VQ35DE) suggested to contact and he was generous enough to supply one. link to the thread below (post #6). not sure how many he can give out, so, can't say for sure if it will work when its time for your purchase, but it worked for me and others as well.

Let me know when you have found a dealer that will accept the Friends and Family and I'll hook you up. And hell, I'm in the Dallas area. I just recently found out that I have my status back, which is bad news for me as I was going through vehicles at a rate of a new one every 6 months (gotta love this used car market) WITHOUT a discount. No telling how nuts I'll go now that I have a nice little discount.

And as for the thread, my dealership has already advertised my vehicle on their website. I'm sure they'll get plenty of "that one is already sold" replies like the replies I get when I call another dealership about their ZL1.
