Sounds like a great trip Damon. I'm happy to hear that you and your wife had a dream drive. Best wishes to you both for her to have a successful recovery.

I tried these reverse LED's on my 2024 SS and they don't stay lit but the backup camera stays on even when the car is not in reverse.

Congratulations, you've unlocked the "8-inch rear view camera" feature

Kidding aside, I bought a reverse LED bulb harness with a resistor+heat sink combo from Gen5DIY back in 2018 and haven't had a problem since then. They have a new version out for the 2019-2024 model years: https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/...mp-led-harness

I put NOKYA 7740 Hyper White bulbs($28.00) in my '23 ZL1. Been in there for almost 2 years with no problems. No resistors or harnesses needed, just a bulb swap and produces a great white(instead of yellow-ish) color.

Ha! Nice. SnakeEyeSS stated no resistor or harness needed. I was hoping these would be plug-n-play but I guess not.

I'm running Sylvania Silverstars now but they are still too yellow. Almost pulled the trigger on the Nokya's this morning but I'm holding out hope that a nice, easy LED solution presents itself. I'm just not real thrilled with the notion of pulling off the bumper cover for to install a Gen5DIY harness for reverse lights.

How are the Nokya's? Are they brighter than stock?

I'm sure there are bulbs that have built-in resistors, seemingly obviating the need for a harness. That said, if you look at the harness, you'll see the giant heat sinks on the resistors, I'm sure those bulbs can only sustain the required amperage for a short while.

Now if one only ever backs up for 10-20 seconds, and if vehicle lighting is set to shut off quickly after leaving the car, overheating won't be an issue, but who knows where the limit is for this el cheapo amazon stuff from the land of the dragon.

Understandable . Yeah. I wasn't keen on adding resistors/harnesses, etc...admittedly because I don't trust my installation skills. I'm more of a one for one swap or plug n play type of guy...that's more MY skill set!!
Regarding the NOKYA'S...They may not be AS bright as LED's, but they are a VERY nice alternative. They produce a nice white/LED look to them and I've really liked them so far. .
You can see in the pics that the left(driver's side) one is factory or the "yellowish" one and the right(passenger side) is the NOKYA'S. UNFORTUNATELY I never got a pic of BOTH sides together before and after...sorry..

I drove my car in the rain for the first time this year, as it was already dirty from all the pollen puking off the trees. I figured, needed washed anyway, what the hell.

I usually drive the truck when it rains, when it did start it took me a bit to figure how the damn wipers worked!

(It was the intermittent thing, I had to actually look to figure out it was the rotating ring style rather then just knowing what to do)

I changed to Philips 194 Ultinon LED Bulb white. Plug and play no issue.

Same here! It was earlier in the week, but my car was super dusty from mostly hibernating over the New England winter, so I drove it in some steady, light rain, for the first time since I’ve owned it. It was liberating. lol
