replacing HID headlight bulbs

is it a good idea to take off the battery cables in the trunk before messing around with the wiring going to the bulbs themselves?on one of the u tube vids i watched high voltage was mentioned and i dont want to risk damaging any wiring or getting zapped.

It's always a good Idea to disconnect a hot circuit before you mess with any electrical components, sometimes you gotta do it hot. Anyway, just disconnect your Negative pole.
PS.. You're not getting zapped lol, but you might fry something else.
