I had the same thing... you have to undo the steering column and under there is a cable you need to unplug. Here is a video- https://youtu.be/-ASISyQIu6o

I got vertigo watching that. Mine is getting persnickety but I’ve never been stuck for 30 minutes at Wal-Mart. I did get stuck once at a Gentlemen’s Club for several hours though. Worst key lock problem to date!
