I went through the same process a couple of months ago, and literally checked the dealer listings on every new Z06 I could find. If you’re ready to move now, go for the Z06; it’s a totally different car from the Camaro. But stay away from the A8 tranny - it has a mind of it’s own and ruins the driving experience. (Check the Corvette Forum.) BTW, if you want a new ‘19 Z06 manual, the Chevy website now shows there are only a handful left in the country. (The site says 400-500 manuals - which is the number for all Z06s. The search function has been screwed up a long time, so the few manuals will show up first on your search, but the only way to make sure you’ve found all the manuals is to check the individual vehicle listings.) I ultimately decided to keep my 1LE and take a look at the C8 Z06.

You already have one back seat, why do you need two? Go for the Z06 manual, unless you're looking for a track monster, then consider the ZL1 1LE.

Can't go wrong with either, but my vote is for Z06 since you already have a Camaro.

Why would you not upgrade to the C8. If I was to spend 70k for a ZL1 I would get the C8, if you could find one.

I’m with the majority here... you’ve got your 6th Gen, go with the ZO6!

I’m of the opinion that the last of the FE Corvettes will end up having a huge following. If you’re willing to buy it and keep it, I think it will end up being sought after.

BTW: I’m close to pulling the trigger on one myself. Guess I love cars too much...!

Go for the M7 Z06 and get the Z07 track package while you're at it. You wont regret it!

I agree with most people's sentiments. You already have a camaro and while the zl1 may have a better platform and the a10 the z06 is just faster. Plus that m7, last manual corvette and possibly last m7 car ever.

I also have a convertible SS and have considered swapping my Panamera for a C7 Z51 or Z06. I also have a 71 pro touring Camaro. My concern is redundancy - 3 hot rod GM sports cars may be just too many. But I haven't ruled out the idea yet. What I would lose is a fantastic grand touring car for longer road trips. Although both the 6th gen Camaro and C7 are pretty decent road trip cars for 2.

Time is running out on the Z06....as I do want a new version of the C7. (I'm just not impressed with the C8) In regards to the ZL1, I can wait to see what Chevy does with the Camaro and either snag the last of the Gen 6's in 2023, or maybe look at a new generation if they go that route. What should I be considering other then the obvious difference in price?

Thanx in advance,

Zl1 preferably a LE.

Depends on what you value more... Having something of both to represent, or driving dynamics.

There is no question that the Alpha chassis is superior to the C7 chassis in driving dynamics, stability at the limit, and driver confidence.

You seem to have adequately answered your own question.
The C7 Z06 is quickly becoming harder to find, and YOU WANT ONE.
The Gen6 ZL1 will likely be unchanged until 2023, so you have a few years to wait.
From what I understand C7's are not exactly flying off the lots, so you won't have to worry about paying a premium as they become scarce.
What you might want to do is wait for the C8's to hit the streets. I know they are all presold, but the base C8 is supposed to compete with the C7 Z06 (that's theory), so just the appearance of the C8's may affect pricing.
