No there was no paint on the seat

I’m calling MRR soon

Will post their response, if it sounds reasonable
Thx

Lugs or studs?

I might need new lugs, but I do not want to buy, if they are going to fall off also
I need to find out what is wrong, before I do anything else

Oh geez, I guess I was thinking you needed to replace the studs, so you just need new lugnuts?

You need to use aftermarket splined lugs, McGard is great and they work on both stock and MRR wheels. Just get the whole kit with locks, $140 or so but worth it.

Just spoke to MRR, they said you need after market lugs, with a 14x1.5 pitch and seat
You would think the distributor would have told me this
There are a bunch of idiots out there

The guy from MRR said I might have ruined the wheels, have to get them inspected, he also does not recommend racing these wheels, even though everyone does, crazy shit!!!!!

Thx I will buy these lugs

Who ever sold you those should have advised/provided the proper lugs, OEM lugs will not even fit in the bore of the MMR's never mind the seat, I can't imagine the damage to the rim finish.

I know it’s outrageous
Plus I was going over 130mph
If the wheels fell off, that would have been really dangerous

Can we please start calling them lug nuts, so that we all know we're talking about the nuts and not the studs?

The splined ones will work fine. So will the ones that use a 19mm hex instead of the stock nuts' 21mm hex. I am using Gorilla 45048BC, as one example. Vorshlag has plain open nuts for a lot cheaper, and they have the added advantage of getting one extra turn of thread reach.

Thank you!

Initially I thought we needed to replace the studs, not just the lug nuts...

McGard are made in the USA, lightweight, durable, and the locks are much more effective vs splined locks. Also closed lug NUTS prevent corrosion, mostly an issue on cars where lug NUTS are left on for a long time.

I continually learn new stuff on this forum. I have a set of MMRs haven’t put them on yet. Wasn’t planning to track with them but would have been upset if I lost one driving on the street.
