The gauntlet has been thrown down for sure. Has Chevy released the performance numbers on the new Corvette Z06 yet, I hope they are better or it will be pretty embarrasing? I think this also backs Ford into a corner with the new GT350, the numbers for this 4-door sedan are going to be tough to top especially if Ford stays with a manual version only.

Can the SS be upgraded ? not sure GM will even try on this one they are so far behind on 4 door sedans.

If I know GM they will not worry about HP numbers, but track times and actual performance on the road. Ford will definitely now try trump Chrysler.

The Z06 specs are out. It is rated at 650/650 from a 6.2L engine with a 5yr/100k mile warranty. A 7-speed manual with rev-matching or an 8-speed auto. It has 4 modes as well to adjust the car for different needs. There is no track times or 0-60's to compare.

It will be interesting to see Ford's reaction.
