Just ask the dealership for a set if you may ever trailer/ship the car anywhere. They're suppose to be left with the vehicle for that reason. Even if you're thinking I'll never need them, things change, one day you just might.

Good luck trying to keep within the break-in parameters. Not an easy thing to do, but once you reach that 1,500 mile mark, and you can really see what the ZL1 is all about, be careful. It's like a drug, extremely addictive!

Yeah, going to ask them today for a set.

The break-in parameters are rough. I have always been a firm believer in break it in like you are going to drive it, but I am trying to hold out on this one. I did go over 4000 rpms and 80 mph a couple times already, but not too much.

Got to rebuild my on-hand cash again and start looking for something that is decent and decently priced.

So, am I stupid for trading in a 2011 2SS LS3 with 11,500 miles on it that I bought in 2010 and had over $8000 worth of mods (mostly suspension mods) in for a ZL1?
If you left all those mods on the car, then I would say yes simply because you could've taken the time to take off the mods, sell them and still would've gotten the same trade in as you did now. But you would've had $5000 more cash in your pocket for the effort to take those off and install used OEM parts.

But hey, if you're happy that's all that matters. I personally would have done just that and drove off in a brand new ZL1 with a bag of cash in the trunk.

I turned to my wife and said "I wonder what they would give me for a trade in on the SS and my truck (2002 Silverado starting to have issues so I wanted it gone) towards the ZL1". Sure enough, they went for the deal that I had asked for and I drove the ZL1 off the showroom floor.

Congratulations!!!

You liked it...and you got the deal you wanted...what's stupid about that?

You'll have to tell us what you think compared to your previous Camaro.

...you only live once, and once and in a lifetime things only come around....well,...once! Smart move....you won't regret it. People who put a plus or minus on purchases based on dollar value or end result of monetary value without factoring happiness into it will never never be satisfied in the long run. Congrats to you!

Traded my 2010 SS in on a ZL1 yesterday. Best mod that I ever did to my SS.

I went the opposite way and have no gas saver at all. Driving the ZL1 to work is a great way to start the day
