BMR vs SPL suspension component info
I tried searching but couldn’t find much info. What are people’s opinions on the two manufactures? Is there any major quality, strength or design benefits between the two. I am looking into changing out some of the rear control arms and links to firm things up and eliminate the factory TTY bolt assemblies. I have a ZLE and will be tracking it. Wet weather is not a worry as it never sees water/rain.
Thanks! |

There are enough people using both out there that if one was prone to failure we would have all heard about it.
I've got pieces from each just waiting for me to get the time to install them. My observations from looking at them in the living room; The SPL pieces are much lighter than the BMR, and if there was no history with the SPL parts I would be inclined to believe they were made for a much lighter/less powerful vehicle. They are both well made, but the BMR pieces have a heft to them that gives the impression you could beat a grizzly bear to death with them if the need arose. If the extra cost is no issue (and if they're going on a ZLE, I assume it isn't) the weight savings from the SPL parts gets the nod from me.

Thank you for the insight. It is for my ZLE so the stronger setup would be more beneficial.

Weight does not equal strength.

I have both brands on my car, my impression is the SPL stuff is superior and of course you pay a premium for that. I have had one failure of a BMR part and it was my own fault for using the stock bolt instead of the one they supplied. I'm not saying anything bad about BMR, it's good stuff, but if I could stomach spending the money it costs to put SPL parts everywhere I'd go that route.
