E85/flex fuel

Any of you guys run E85 or have a flex fuel sensor? How would the car run on 93 if you had it tuned on e85? Would there be any corrosion to a car that didn't get driven a lot and sat?
Thanks for your opinions

With a flexfuel sensor the tune adjusts based on Ethanol content. Meaning if you use 93 gas the tune will adjust for 93 and if you go straight E85 it will adjust and know how to use it.

I've heard people say there wouldn't be any corrosion issues, but I've heard some say there would be. I'm not sure if there is a real clear concise answer on this yet.

Corrosion is not an issue. Your fuel system can handle it although typically you'll need larger injectors.

I have a super easy installation kit available for the ZL1. If you have already been tuned on any fuel, you pretty much need a retune with the sensor. I can assist remotely if needed.

Does $4,500 sound about right for a complete 85 system? I'm still think about the switch over but just not sure yet?

You can get a complete dual pump e85 fuel system from agp for 1800 with a flex fuel sensor so 4500 a bit steep imo....

I sell complete packages with a flex fuel kit, fuel system, and Injector Dynamics injectors for substantially less.

No way this should cost $4,500 unless there's a lot of other work going beyond the Flex Fuel system. To compare apples with apples, you should be clear what you are getting for that. Anyway, I assume you are going e85 because you are planning boost (or want more out of your boost) - for me, I don't really see the benefit otherwise.

As for the performance, for me, it adds about 10% HP (600 vs 659whp) and it is noticeable. My car is a little more 'surgey' right after startup when running high e85, but not an issue even in cold weather. Your computer already has an input for a flex fuel sensor and if you have a Dash Logic or some other OBDII reader, you can see the output. Here's a pic of my HUD from last week after I filled up with e85.

Is this parts only or parts, labor for install, and tuning?

If parts only, 4500.00 would be if you were to do a Complete Fore innovations twin pump return system with rails and regulator, ID-1300 injectors, and Flex fuel sensor kit, to support 1200 HP.

If parts, labor and tuning, included probably about right with a DSX Aux pump, ID-1050 injectors and tuning.

I am always available to answer questions and provide parts service and remote tuning.

We are proud to be a dealer for DSXtuning.

Ted.
