Clutch freeplay 1" then goes away (searched)

As stated, when I use the clutch (after sitting a while) I have 1" freeplay where there is no resistance. The car shifts nomal but the grab is lower. It feels like air in the system. After driving about 50 shifts, the peddle comes back to normal where there is resistance from the top. I don't believe this is the clutch TSB. Any thoughts? I will try bleeding the clutch this weekend but the fact that it fixes itself seems not to be the prob. Thought I read somewhere that these are self bleeding. Car has 4K miles. Thanks

no you're not. Just had it happen to me today for first time (7000mi). There is less resistance in the top 2" of play, then went away after a while.

SSLarry, mine started by surprise one day. Thing is I park it and it's OK then the next morning it has freeplay on the first press. I will try bleeding tomorrow if possible.

Bleed it, but it will be difficult without a remote bleeder installed.

It happens to my car too, but only if it's sat overnight. Figured it was air in the system or something.

My prob went away as fast as it arrived. Been working fine for a couple days now. The only thing I did was open reseviour. Maybe the cap is not vented that well . If prob comes back I will bleed.

Same reason I got an auto...just couldn't get mine fixed. Good luck man, try a clutch reservoir and better fluid n replace it often.
