Don't they come with dual exhaust? Do you mean active exhaust?

A couple of updates:
- Several weeks ago, I installed the Forza 3-way exhaust controller for the NPP exhaust. Being able to close the valves (particularly with the long tubes) is great. Even better, when I want to 'play', I can force the valves open at any RPM (instead of waiting until 3,800 RPM or so for them to open up). I'm very happy with this. - The big news, I bit the bullet and ordered a 2.9 polished Whipple SC. I had already ordered the modification kit for my existing CAI so I can keep my existing CAI - it was awful expensive for a new piece of pipe, but I want to keep the satin/polished 'theme' under the hood. I was also able to pick up a 10rib kit (gently used) for 1/2 price, so I'm good for power. In fact, I can't really go any more unless I want to really start messing with the engine. I suspect that I'm already going to have to start messing with the suspension anyway. If I can get 600rwhp, I think the car will have the 'perfect' amount of power(!). |

Whipple Installed!
Completed the next stage in the build story today with the addition of a Whipple 2.9l supercharger courtesy of KP Racing here in Houston. The car is transformed(!). I know that there are lots of guys putting down big power, but I have to say that on the stock suspension and skinny (lol) 275's on the back, this is more than enough! Mustang dyno numbers were 581 HP / 528 ft-lbs. The jury is out on the carbon fiber heat extractor, but I can always paint it later if it doesn't grow on me.

LG 28 Wheels
Another big mod today. Almost finished (for now )! Installed aftermarket (LG 28) replica wheels as I needed the extra width in the rear. Also fitted a pair of 305/35/20 Mickey Thompson Street Comps to the rear. I was able to move my 275's to the front.
A shout out to JACE Auto here in Houston - they gave me great service and moved my existing rear tires to the new front wheels, removed and replaced all of my TPMS' and installed the rear tires all for only the price of the two new tires. I'll keep the stock wheels of course (they need a little curb rash repair anyway) - gives me the option in the future to return to the stock Commemorative Edition look - but I'm pretty happy with how these came out! (Maybe just need to lower it by 1" then I'm finished - for now...) |

(reposted in the right place ) A couple of catch up items since the last update: The Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires were terrible / swapped for Nitto 555r's on 18" wheels. The comparative grip is phenomenal, however, that spelled the quick demise of my stock clutch. So the clutch is replaced with something more substantial (McLeod RXT 1200) along with dual TI267 fuel pumps. In addition, a new Anderson Composites carbon fiber front splitter and rear spoiler courtesy of Phastek. Car is now making 659 whp / 587 ft-lb torque and is now power limited by the stock cam. That's good for now - between tires that hook, a strong clutch and consistent fuel pressure and power across the revs the car is fun!
For you 2014-2015 'vert owners out there: I discovered that the radio antenna is mounted INSIDE of the rear spoiler. I guess the 'sharkfin' is just GPS/Onstar. It is a long thin strip of aluminum riveted together in the center. Anyway, I had to cut about 3" off of one end and pull the antenna out from the side. I'm sure there's an easier way to do this but I don't know what it is. The antenna went back into the Anderson Composites spoiler but because the mold really does not accommodate for adding/removing the antenna, the antenna is now permanently mounted in the carbon fiber spoiler (with epoxy). (I also added paint matched Oracle sidemarker lights several months ago - they even paint matched the stripe!) (Note to anyone messing with their front splitter: If you remove the supporting plastic tabs that hold the top of the splitter (they are riveted in), you MUST replace them with rivets - little flat head bolts will not cut it and you will not be able to get that splitter back on. Ask me about the four hours wasted messing around with that!)

I should also highlight that I had a very good wheel and tire purchasing experience from Performance Plus tires. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent. Tires arrived to my door within a week mounted on new wheels, balanced (with reports) and well packaged. Customer service is also very good.

It's been awhile since my last post. After an unfortunate turn with a stuck injector and a motor flooded with fuel, a motor rebuild was in order. PowerFab organized the rebuild with LME here in Houston. Now the motor is rebuilt at 10.0:1 compression with a forged bottom end with Diamond custom boost pistons, Callies Compstar H-Beam rods, ARP pro series main stud kit and 2000 series rod bolts. Car is running sweet and a little more powerful at 725whp, 595ftLb torque.
