We had some friendly racing for a couple of stop lights with a corvette. When we pulled up to the 3rd stop light, we gave him a thumbs up and he gave one back. So they aren't all bad!

Ill admit that I have a certain amount of hate for the mustang, but other than that, i appreciate all cars that are meant to be more than just grocery-getters. I just happen to love camaros the most! But that kind of hate coming from our friends with vettes? thats just sad.

The problem a lot, not all, but a lot of Vette owners have is the stereo typical comment that a Camaro is a poor man's Corvette. It has to do a lot with the fact that you aren't in the same "money spending" category as they are. Those are the same types of owners who are using the Vette as a status symbol.

But the problem they have now, is as it has already been mentioned is the overhaul and reintroduction the Camaro got. The Vette will always be the Vette but when the Camaro stopped being made in 2002 and then all of a sudden this sick looking, beast of a machine comes out in the popular Transformers movies, and BAM, the Camaro is getting the recognition the Vette was supposed to be getting.

Makes sense... every time I see a corvette i give them the same treatment I give my fellow camaro owners.. well, only once have I gotten a positive response from one of them.

Most of the Corvette clubs I encounter with my Camaro club want nothing to do with us. They believe for some reason that their cars are superior to the Camaro because its a dedicated sports car platform. In short most Corvette club guys are kinda snooby. They acted the same way towards the Mustang clubs I was in also.

There are numerous reasons that the Vette owners might indeed have reason to believe that. However, I'm guessing the attitude of many Camaro and Mustang owners is more a contributing factor to the Vette owners' attitudes towards them than the actual differences in cars.

btw: I read on here last night that if I were not too proud, I'd report things like your current signature as being offensive since I'm a v6 owner.

Another thing that cracks me up is people saying they have "beat" Corvettes from stoplights. If a Camaro pulls up next to me when I'm in my c6 Vette, and they are begging to race, I may rev the engine and grin, and I MIGHT even hit the gas a bit off the line, but I am DARN sure not racing on a city street. Period. So anyone who runs home posting "I just beat a Corvette" is simply kidding themselves. <shrug>

Plus, I know some Vette drivers who couldn't beat some of our Camaro guys here because they don't know how to drive nearly as well. ie They are not "equal drivers."
