Accident: Need some body parts
Dear Z-Friends,
I had an accident today and need some body parts - some of them are unfortunetly discontinued: - Rear bumper Cover - GM (23164146), - Rear bower Cover - GM (22985096), - Rear fender flare - GM (23240651). I would be happy if you could help me - who is selling these parts or where to get them. Thanks! |

Rear bumper cover you can use SS part and swap your Z28 diffusser parts into it I think..?
Flares will be the difficult bit I have spare Z28 rear toe link arms in the UK if you're desperate, but I think these are still available. I will keep an eye out for you. |

The workshop doesn't open until Tuesday. Then I know exactly what I need.
Thank you very much first. Pat, your trailing parts are from Pfadt, right? How satisfied are you with that? |

I don't understand how GM can no longer produce such an important part as the rear lower cover.
The car has only been on the market for 7 years. I think that's really outrageous. |

That huge indented, dented spot on the back left - what's the name of this part in English? Is rear fender right?
I have not found a spare part under this name. |

Might be better, in the long run to buy a whole new subframe assembly. With it being hit like that, its likely the whole thing is tweaked. Which could cause you endless alignment issues, that I personally, wouldn't want to deal with. See them on ebay frequently

Not ideal but a thought:
The lower rear valance, bumper cover and/or fender flare might be able to be feathered out and repainted if they aren’t damaged too bad. I only say that because of the availability of the parts. Don’t let the body shop throw those plastic parts away as they normally would. A good heat gun on the fender flare might pop it back into shape if even that is needed. I picked up fender flares from GM last year and they are primered, so you’d need to paint them anyway. Not sure if they still are available from GM. Good luck |
