Difference between my 2014 Camaro & 2020 I;m looking at--HELP
My 2014 Camaro only has 30,000 miles. The reasons I'm looking at a 2020, when I really don't need it are:
POSITIVES Push Button Start Apple Car Play Top Up & Down (process/speed) No more Boot needed Lane Safety, Front End collision etc New 10 speed auto tran (mine Gen 5 wasn't a problem like some Gen 6) NEGATIVES No more Homelink (i'd survive without) Placement of Air Conditioning vents -I’ll survive Am I missing any other advantages? I don't need it but want it...… Last edited by Fun; 10-26-2019 at 04:26 PM. |

I went from a 2011 RS vert to a 2020 2SS vert and it just kicks the pants off the gen 5.
Better visability imo, review camera, and better interior all around for sure. Biggest negative is smaller backseat, which, even with my smallish children 5, 8, and 10 - is noticeably harder to deal with - and the trunk isn't as usable for me with respect to golf clubs. i could put my clubs underneath the folded top in my 2011 but it just won't work in the 2020. I have to put the clubs in the back seat.

I sold my 2013 gen 5, for a 2018 Gen 6
Similarities: 4 tires 2 doors Small back seat, but it’s there Positives: EVERYTHING ELSE! The 5th gen is a good car, the 6th gen is an amazing car I would miss the homelink, it it’s not a deal breaker Get the 6th gen, and if it’s in the budget, a ZL1

a paid for gen 5 might be better in some respects than getting on the car payment treadmill again to get pushbutton start.hey, somebody had to be the devils advocate.

When I was shopping to get back in a Camaro, it came down to 2. A 2014 2 SS with 24K miles or a 2018 1 SS with 19K miles.
The real deciding factor came down to the platform of Gen 6, the LT1 engine. Also I have plenty of warranty with the '18. Also I wasn't real fond of the '14 refresh on the 5th gen. At the end of the day for me, compared to my 2011 2SS, the difference between the 5th and 6th Gen is night and day. The 6th Gen provides a much, much better driving experience, not that the 5th Gen was bad. The 6th Gen is just that much better. |

I had a 2010 2SS LS3 6 speed that I really liked but when I saw a 2016 2SS on the dealer lot, I knew I had to have it even though my 2010 was paid for and had some mods done to it. After I took a test drive with the 2016 that sealed the deal! Of course this past March I found a used 422 mile 2017 ZL1 on Cars.com that was priced right with very low miles that I bought. Didn’t plan on getting a ZL1 but I had some equity in the 2016 so I did a trade in and have no regrets so far. The 6gen to me is hands down better than the 5th gen since I have owned both!

Just go test drive one on your lunch break if you want to find out what's different about it.
You're thinking those options are what's different about the current Camaro and obviously don't realize that this is a completely different animal from the Gen 5. |

What you should look at are Performance suspension & power. Look at the difference in the car and what fits your needs best, with 6th gen being smaller inside, ride height difference.

Go with the 6 speed Man. Unless your intent is just to lower your E/Ts a few 10ths in the quarter mile. |
