Official: 2017 GT350 comes standard with track pack, and it seems a $6500 price jump.

Nice to make those IMO necessities standard, but I didn't expect a $6500 price jump. That means a base GT350 will be $56,495...with a SS 1LE expected to come in around $43K, with performance expected to be pretty close, Ford must be worried.

I expected as much. They weren't about to leave cash on the table with a high margin car like this.

People want track pack equipment? Here is it....just as much as it would have cost you to get the option last year. This will help prevent people who chose the option in the past from getting pissed...and eliminates any confusion that the base model car was actually capable of track-duty just because it's a "GT350".

not sure how i feel about that, i kinda liked the fact you couldve got in that car for $6500 less if youre just using it for enjoyment cruising it on a friday night.

if people were beating on it and/or tracking it should be very clear it is high recommended to include that package.

this move is big brother needing to step in because ppl cant use their brains.

I really don't think Ford is particularly worried about the 1LE since it's likely more people will buy the GT350 than the 1LE option on a SS..simply due to the "prestige" of owning a GT350.

The 1LE should be a great performance bargain, but it's not going to be in the same realm of sales or overall performance as the GT350.

Makes sense and it's what I said it would cost.. Couple of Ford guys on here of course said it would be 51-52 because Ford will give a deal... Right.

Wonder how a 12k dollar cheaper 1LE will perform.. Everyone said that the GT350 is a great performance value. Let's see if their opinion extends to 1LE or if fanboyism will overshadow it.

Can pick up a Z51 Vette for 61.. Not bad.

The "deals" you can get from any Ford dealer I shopped for the GT350 were about $5 to $8k markup on top of the MSRP...highly doubt the new and improved GT350 with an even higher MSRP is going to garner any customer wallet-friendly deals.

What I can't understand is why Ford felt they had to fit that extra level (GT350, non-track pack) in between the GT/PP and the GT350R in the first place. Flat-plane crank engine aside, it seems like the non-TP GT350 is trying to fit into a niche comparable to the space between the SS and SS/1LE Camaros.

Damn, wasn't expecting a $6,500 jump. Clearly, Ford was willing to let the base GT350 suffer on the track to get the lowest MSRP necessary. Now that the performance issues are well known, they are trying to save face by giving up the sub $50k MSRP.

If the 1LE is anywhere near the GT350, it will be the bargain track car for sure. I can't wait to see 1LE vs GT350 comparisons.

And the funny thing is that GOOD LUCK finding one for MSRP let alone below it. Cheapest my buddy and I found was 7k above MSRP (he was looking into it and I just tried to help). Even the SS is very very close in numbers with the Gt350. Not really the R version but considering the crazy amount of price difference... Now once the 1LE is actually out, I estimate it will be annihilating the Gt350 and compete with the Gt350R and just maybe beat it. AO knows all the 1LE numbers, he even hinted that 1LE is against the 350R and not just the 350. Which is insane as the 1LE will be well below 50k, most likely around 44-45 range where as the GT350R 61.2k! And like I said, that's just MSRP and GOOD LUCK finding it @ that price.

Chevy is truly dominating all the vehicles that is going against, it is a very good time to own a Chevy haha. Ford will strike back but who knows when. Love the competition! We the customer always wins haha.

When a similar/in class car costing what, $12,000-$15,000~ less has performance that is pretty close, they worry...

I don't think you will see the SS 1LE "annihilating" the GT350...it has similar weight, and less power. Yes, it is way less cash, but I do see it being very close to a GT350. The GT350R is on another level, and even more money. I still think it's cool that we are comparing a SS with a option package to a Shelby, since the in class GT with an option package is its true competitor lol...

I was shopping for a GT350 and but got tired of trying so hard to get one at MSRP. Its like i have to beg to pay, that just makes no sense, not to me. I am going with the 1LE because all i had to do was go into a random chevy dealer and let them know i wanted it, now i am just waiting for their rep to give the word and I will have it when its built. The "prestige" as you put it just means they overpayed. Thats what that snake on the GT350 badges signifies to me.

You won't be able to touch a 350GT for close to $56K. There are two at a dealership close to me. Both are $74K. Dealer won't budge.
