Looks like the dealer putting two new cars on a race before delivery. The Camaro still had the yellow tag on the glove box

Possible but for the record I still have the tag on mine. Previous owner never removed it and neither did I. Original Screen protector for infotainment screen is still on there too!

In my observation, the Corvette has a lot left in it. The Camaro video constantly shows well over 1G. The Corvette video rarely shows over 1G (and the driver chooses terrible lines). Need to have the driver of the Camaro drive the Corvette to have a fair comparison.

I believe for the first 500 miles or so the C8 has reduced power and torque for break-in. I heard this from Tadge on Jay Leno's garage episiode. This could be the reason. I don't think our SS 1LE should be able to hang with a C8 on a roll.

Stock for Stock, both the C8 Z51 and the Camaro SS 1LE both being fully broken in, the C8 will be faster than the SS 1LE around the track and from the roll. They are lighter, have an easy 50hp more than the SS 1LE and better aerodynamics.

I doubt it. At the track, C8 Z51 is only slightly faster than the C7 Z51 (which is much slower than a C7 GS). The problem is the front tire size, they're just small and cause tons of understeer so in other words they're limited with front end grip (no wonder almost everyone tested them complained about the understeer). C8 GS will be a whole another story of course.. Btw, they recently dynoed the C8 Z51 on dynojet and it did 440whp and 408 wtq (vs 420whp and 413wtq SS 1LE dynojet numbers). I think the DCT causes some drive train loss

As close as these two cars are I suspect the biggest difference that matters will be who is sitting behind the wheel. Performance of these cars is close enough that one bad choice will be the difference between winning and losing.

Wish they would offer us an upgrade option so we could get the better quality video in our SS1LEs!

X2

What he said plus how fresh your tires are and which brand you choose to run.

Corvette C7 Z51 VS Camaro SS1LE it would be a driver's race depending on the size of the track. The same for the SS1LE VS Shelby GT350 before the newer one that was upgraded to cup tires. The SS1LE wouldn't have a chance VS the C7 Grand Sport. My money go for a base Camaro ZL1 beating the C8 Z51
