GM's Super Bowl ad will highlight 100,000-mile warranty
January 30, 2007 By KORTNEY STRINGER FREE PRESS BUSINESS WRITER General Motors Corp. today said it would launch the next phase of its corporate “100,000 Mile Warranty” campaign during Super Bowl XLI on Sunday. During the Super Bowl, which will air on CBS, GM will roll out a 60-second TV spot called “Robot.” Created with GM by Deutsch LA, the spot features a small robot that is part of a GM assembly line. When a robot makes the mistake of dropping a screw, the line shuts down and the employees in the plant banish the little robot from the premises. The robot’s anguish over its mistake helps to remind consumers that every 2007 GM car and light-duty truck is covered by a 100,000 mile/five-year powertrain limited warranty, and illustrates GM’s obsession about quality. Poor little guy... :( |

The 100,000-mile warranty is probably one of the best things GM has done from a marketing standpoint.
