Got an email this am from the Chevrolet Navigation Team.

I feel so special.

Not sure how many of you received this email, but did it ever make my day.

I got the same email.

Two of the Garmin GPS units I own have totally free lifetime map updates. The third, I had to buy lifetime updates, and I think that cost me $50 or $75 bucks, I forget. For that I get several map set updates per year. Every year. No additional cost.

OR - use google maps on your phone connected via Carplay or the android version of that, updated weekly if not more with a much larger team maintaining it than anything else by far.

I updated the one on my 2017 ss. I will not be updating the one on my 2018.

I never used it. google maps knows all I need it to.

In case some of you didn't catch on, I was being sarcastic.

In this day and age, they are still functioning as if it was 2008.

I use WAZE, Apple Maps, still ticked that the Chevy system only allows for 230 XM stations. I have a Pioneer in my other car that gets far, far more.

Acura sent out basically the same type of message but it was well over $100 to update it, I am think it was almost $200 like $189 or something. I just use my phone in both cars.

and your phone understands your voice commands. My Camaro Nav sys sucks when it comes to recognizing voice.

Nothing to do with OnStar. I think everyone with the factory Navigation and a 2016-2018 Camaro got that email. I posted it yesterday in the Audio/Nav/Electronics forum.
