Vmax ported throttle body throwing codes and loss of power

Received my Vmax ported throttle body in the mail today. Installed it as per instructions, by video. Everything was connected. I started the vehicle and immediately started getting throttle body error codes and reduced power. Engine was chugging and probably running lean. The car died before I was able to shut it off. I reinstalled by stock throttle body and the car started as normal, with the check engine light still on. I've currently disconnected the battery and will see if the car is going to reset the code. Did I get a bad throttle body from Vmax? What could cause this?

Cars running fine with stock, no CEL. It was definitely the throttle body. I might have to look into Pray. We'll see if JDP makes this right.

I dont care what anyone says, if you are changing the TB out then unplug the negative on the battery first before you start the swap.

Then once you are done go thru the idle relearn process.

Did do that. After it threw codes the first time. The part is defective.

I'm sure it's a defective one...Hope they make it right for you.

I just installed the PRAY one and it's great. Gonna install the Rotofab tomorrow!

From what I've seen it is not uncommon for the throttle body motors to be bad on some of the brand new ones sent out by GM. Mine had a bad motor in it and it was a brand new throttle body that PRAY purchased as an OEM GM part. Just get it returned and replaced

The motors in these TB's are HOT GARBAGE. They are weak and are sync'd to the cover. This is the most garbage TB I have ever seen from GM. I have been porting them since 04'. It makes it very difficult for porters to get every throttle body perfect for every car. I have gone through three revisions to eliminate issues. Issues are random as crap as well. You can do 100 TB's that work awesome and then there is the one car that no matter what you do won't work on that particular car. PITA.
