Stand out front with a great big sign and state this Dealership tore up my new car in their service department and refuse to make it good. I'd stand out front until I got satisfaction. Might even call the local news and give them a story on camera out front.
File a claim in court.

To VinnAY's comment above, he's correct. I would make the dealer aware of the rattle, but I want them to document it, not fix it... Rattles and vibrations are almost impossible to isolate and fix. That being said, there are specialists that do exactly that. They find the rattle and use stickies and sponge pieces to decrease or eliminate the problem. A dealership doesn't usually troubleshoot and "fix" problems. They tend to attempt to find the problem and then replace parts. They start with the least expensive resolution, then go up from there. I have taken certain cars in for rattles or vibrations, but I'm talking directly to the person (I of course have the luxury of choosing the person and speaking to them directly) who will be working on my car. I do this to get their insight. If the person tells me this is common and they've yet to fix one, then I'm out. There's nothing to do. If the person tells me he thinks he knows where it's coming from and would like to try to resolve it, I let him. Again, these are the "perks" of my position. In your situation, I would sit down and calmly speak to the Service Manager. I would tell him "accidents happen, but I would like to get this resolved." Please get your interior specialist (almost every major dealership has an interior person that comes out and repairs interior trim pieces, leather abnormalities, interior scratches, etc...) to fix the interior. Tell him you would be willing to pay to get the work done. Hopefully, this service manager has a conscious and will give you their cheap pricing for the fix, or pay to have it fixed. What you're essentially doing is telling them you would like it resolved cheaply. Good Luck! I feel for you and would be really upset, but remember, this guy doesn't have to help you (even though we all agree he should), so you have to appeal to his human side if you want the problem resolved...

Hell, I would file vandalism charges with the police. At least that will open up an investigation and they may even make it right if the charges are dropped.

man over the years i have brought cars in for a rattle sound that drives me nuts, and not a single dealer can resolve them. Im talking Subaru, Ford, Chevy, mazda. Not luxury brands by any means, but its a waste of effort. If you find yourself some thin foam padding with adhesive backing, you can get rid of almost all rattles...in time. lol. Also if the rattle is between two parts that are tightly fit together (lets say door handle to door trim), rather then taking it apart, get some of that adhesive cloth tape 3m sells, and wedge it between the two.
If working with the dealer dosn't work out. My secret too is believe it or not the BBB. I know people think they are useless but I've got out of cell phone contracts with them. File a complaint electronically online, and within a week I bet you have a resolution. Good luck man |

File a complaint with the department of agriculture. They will have to respond to your claim if you file with them legally. The bbb looks bad but they don’t have to respond. I have a friend that’s an attorney and I had a similar situation and that’s the advice he gave me... it worked for me.
