Are you referring to the selling dealership, or the receiving dealership? Give the receiving a chance to fix the issue before shunning them. lol

I just had a similar On-Star experience just a few weeks ago.
I was on my way back from the west side of Michigan (I live downriver south of Detroit) when my right rear tire blew out with no warning.
I was able to make it to the shoulder, and called On-Star for the first time in the cars 8 year life.
On-Star was very nice, responsive, and competent, and once they heard it was a blow-out and not a leak, they said the 'fix-a-flat' crap that comes with the car would never work. They also noticed it was a Camaro they said they would make sure a flat bed truck would be dispatched to tow it complete with the neccessary things to load a low car.
They then asked me where I would like it to be towed, and I gave them the address of my favorite dealer near my house.
They checked and said I was covered to have it towed anywhere within 25 miles, but the dealer I preferred was 39.5 miles away and I would have to pay an additional fee. The additional fee was just $76.
Good news is that they contacted a local tow service, the bad news is that On-Star warned me that these days, most tow services won't allow you to ride back with them.
Oh crap, I wasn't looking forward to walking 40 miles back home since I didn't have any friends to call for a ride.
Luckily when the tow truck arrived, he told me his dispatcher left it up to them whether they wanted to let me ride back with them. I was delighted when he decided to let me ride back with him (yes I had a mask to wear).
He dropped me off at my house 3 miles from the dealer on his way back.
And yes I gave him a generous tip for doing so.

So, yes On-Star came to my rescue that day, but yes, they only tow you within 25 miles at no charge. In my case, the additional charge worked out to about $2/mile beyond the 25 mile coverage.

Why wouldn’t it just go to the closest dealer? It’s a GM Warranty.

Yep I agree about having to carry a 10mm for the battery, I did it cause if it ever happened again I didn't want to walk either, hopefully you just have a bad battery.

I wonder if the car was poorly prepped and left in transport mode "battery saver mode"? I'm not at all familiar on the effect if one was to do so, just a thought?

My thoughts exactly.
Onstar would cover the tow to closest dealer.

I had the same experience with Onstar the dealer I purchased the car from is 47miles away from my house. I was on a little joy ride when CEL comes on and no power. I wanted Onstar to tow it to the dealer i purchased from but they came out with the same 25 mile BS. The charged me $125 to tow it there. I believe they are not really helpful if your not close to the dealer you want to work with. I think AAA will be a better option. I'm looking into it,because its not worth paying if your for from home.

I live in New Hampshire - I was stranded in CT. They would only tow 25 miles max. And the dealer isn't allowed to do loaners or rentals because of this goddamn virus. So I would have had to tow to a CT dealer then have no way of getting home.

How is this (at this point, anyway) even related to a dealership?

Could be water in the fuel
Failed fuel pump
Improper prep

or a myriad of other things. Until the cause of the issue is known, there's no way to link this (or not) to a dealership.

sounds like a fuel pump issue but who knows...good luck with the resolution!

I originally thought maybe your car was brought up from PA on some dealer exchange deal. Definitely keep us posted what they end up diagnosing in this case. Hope things work out!
Ha! Small world - It does look pretty sitting there at least. So this dealer (MacMulkin Chevy) basically said they wouldn't even LOOK at the car until next week - which I think is ridiculous. So I made a claim through GM, and they are going to tow it free of charge (finally) to Quirk Chevy in manchester where they will at LEAST be able to get it in tomorrow to start to diagnosis it.

I have been on the phone getting jerked around all day. Misery was NOT the emotion I was expecting after buying this car. I'll keep you guys updated.

I'm praying it's something simple and I didn't get a lemon. I searched FOREVER to find this car in this color...
