I left my car parked outside the garage while I was reorganizing the tool cabinets, and I overheard my neighbors talking to each other, "That's a badass car, man.." "yeah..."
It sure is.

I haven't had too many positive comments...
Why do slow cars want to race and fast cars change lanes to avoid me? There is no shortage of exotic cars in Vegas so even a bright red SS goes mostly unnoticed. My step-dad and a guy I work with(both around the same age) asked why I didn't get a Challenger? The most common thing I hear is that it is a ticket getter and a waste of money from coworkers. Maybe jealous because I have no bills or serious responsibilities? My younger brother is a street bike guy but when I gave him a ride he was impressed. He Googled how to use launch control(I just got it so I didn't know yet) and really was surprised how fast it is. I know 3 newer Mustang owners and none of them seem to realize how potent the gen6 is... While a friend with a big block 55 Chevy gasser knew about it and said I would probably beat him. |

I can definitely say women really like this car.
The weirdest are some of the reactions in traffic where people have sat up and stared like they just saw Bigfoot. |

In Tulsa area I get a few looks and some compliments, but go largely ignored.
When I'm around home (population ~7,000) I get heads turning left and right, kids wanting me to do burnouts (and sometimes their dads too lol), lots of people yelling nice car, and someone always talking to me about it at the gas pump. There's a group of younger guys with F-Bodies in town, a WS6, Z28, a 6.0 swapped SS, and an 80's Chevy truck with a 5.3 (LS6 heads), they were all over it at the car wash wanting to see every detail. Of course, being a small town it turned out they knew my little brother, and one of them actually bought his R6 bike a couple weeks back. Fortunately, not much negative attention to speak of, nothing worth noting.

After 3 months it still weird me out how people stare at my car. Im not used to it! Couple weeks ago a Police Officer pulled up next to me to compliment the car. Overall I get constant compliments and even the CEO of my company asked me to give him a test drive.
Edit: Forgot to add while I was staying in DC a group of tourists in my hotel were taking pictures of themselves next to the car! The valet parked it on the front of the lobby during my stay. Last edited by vet757; 10-07-2016 at 12:48 PM. |

I get stares, selfies, people stopping to talk about the car and thumbs up more than once a day. It is super-weird for me but I think this is a car that just resonates with people in a way my other cars didn't (2015 Audi S4, 2004 WRX and 2002 WRX).
Yesterday, I was at Ace Hardware and one of the guys yells to his buddy "hey man, look at this badass mother****in' Camaro outside!"...he didn't know the owner was right next to him.

One of the kids in my neighborhood (about 6 years old) yelled "I like your Corvette" as I was driving home the other day. Oh well, close enough kid!

The evening when I bought it, my daughter was going to homecoming dance so I drove it over to the ex-wife's house to grill daughters date and give her a hug take pictures etc. When I was pulling up, my daughter said the ex sneered..."when did your dad get a corvette!". Daughter said she laughed and said, "thats a Camaro mom..."

Just had my first two remarks from folks over the past 24 hours.
First one was yesterday. I've been having some landscaping done, Camaro is in the garage with door open, and one of the guys complimented it and we chatted about it for a couple minutes. He even said he loves the wheels. Mind you I have the base 1LT; they aren't nearly as fancy or aggressive looking as the other options but I love them too and it was nice to hear someone else specifically mention them. The next one was just this morning and myself and the missus were leaving Cracker Barrel. One of the employees was leaving too, and she said "that your blue Camaro??" And then proceeded to lose her shit over the color and the styling. She is just in love with these cars (I mean who can blame her?). Told her about the 20% off on remaining 2016s and we talked about it for like 5 minutes. Definitely the most fun and positive interaction I've had with a stranger about my car! Its performance notwithstanding, the 6th gen is just too refined, too luxurious, too "gone soft in its middle age" for him, given that his frame of reference is a 1968 Z/28. I don't agree with the way he phrased it, or his ready willingness to grab such a negative opinion out of thin air and share it with a fellow Camaro owner ... at all, but I can see where he's coming from.
