What is Lambert’s? I’ve been loving the cooler weather in the south myself. It’s been a brutal summer.

Today I got my radar detector installed with the harness from Gen5DIY and a stealth mirror mount off of amazon. Pretty happy with the way it came out and I’m pumped to not have to splice into any wiring for a nice easy install. Also got my new ZL1 starter in, but anxiously awaiting the dash replacement piece to even ship. I’m sure it’s something that isn’t ordered often so it may not be readily available to ship.

As for the dashcam I’m thinking of sticking with the BlackVue for now and actually hang on to some cash. It works fine and I don’t really NEED 4K.

You can reroute the cable to come out the headliner for a cleaner install. It’s what I did. Super easy. And it follows down my mirror to my radar detector.

And Lambert’s is “home of the throwed roll.” It’s a resultant. The first one (and location we are going to) is located in Sikeston, MO. There are a couple other locations in the south.

Good call, I will do that for sure. The install video mentioned that mirror mounts should come right down through the homelink, but there’s enough room to route it that way. I’ll mess around with it when I get the new sticky pad for my BlackVue and install that. I would rather not take that down more than I have to. It was a lot more secured than it looked in the install vid.

And I’m looking for a weekend drive myself, but that’s 9 hours. Probably too much haha. It’s our first open weekend since owning the car so I want to rip it up all day Saturday. We’re tossing around heading to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a day of sightseeing.

Edit: that place looks awesome btw. Enjoy the drive!

Yeah it took a little elbow grease to take mine down when I installed mine. And good idea waiting till vet the camera mounted.

Yeah it’s about 2.5 hours drive for us. But I don’t blame you, 9 hours is a bit far lol.

Sweet! Glad to hear the Colorado Springs chapter of BCCC can make it again! Hope she can make it this time.

And yes make sure to ask for CamaroFest rate. Rumor is the group code is CAF for online use. Can’t verify.

The FedEx Santa Claus just dropped off my cover plate! How did you guys mount this? I was thinking just 4 corner pieces with the 3M double sided auto tape.

I used 3M VHB tape and applied to the back of the plate. Then cleaned the fuse panel box and applied there. Make sure to stick your tongue out as you apply for optimal install.

I used 3M Dual-Loc but really anything with a higher temperature adhesive should work. I wanted to be able to remove it easily for various reasons that I can’t remember at the moment.

I used some industrial strength Velcro. Can’t remember what brand name. Figured in case I want to pull it off for a temporary display or something.

That’s a great idea. I’ve got some good Velcro on the way from Amazon now.

Just FYI. I strongly suggest to NOT buy a 2014 Sierra or Silverado. Mine going into shop Friday for yet another recall and the hvac not working. Ugh.

My dad’s 14 was just in for same recall last week.
