Can “Lone Wolf McBlueFifty” meet with you guys? Or is this an H50 only thing? (No offense will be taken if it is). I’d like to meet some of you guys and get better acquainted and put faces with names I’ve not met.

It’s CamaroFest, it’s what it’s about. Meeting others and hanging out. And yes putting faces/names to handles. I don’t see an issue with it.

Cool. I think I gave my cell # to Ric, but just in case I’ll message it to you also. Safe travels to the FEST!

You guys drive carefully on your way to CamaroFest. Unfortunately we're going to miss this year. Two granddaughters with birthdays. We enjoyed meeting a lot of the F1fty people and the Memphis group the last two years. I hope to make it next year. Disappointed that I won't get to meet James.

Well, according to "The Book of Faces", July 5th is apparently the day to get new tires. I just happen to be one of them. Pulled the trigger on the Continental DWS06 today. They are WAY quieter than the OEM tires. Have all of 15 miles on them so I don't really have any detailed opinions yet. I was glad to see that the rubber sticks out slightly from the rim to help prevent rim rash. (I liked that about the Goodyears.) Even the guy at Discount Tire was raving about them.

I don't have any pics as the car is dirty and the wheels are .......... filthy.

I figure 20K on the OEM tires was pretty good wear. They were just getting down to the wear bars. I wasn't that aggressive on them so that may be why they lasted as long as they did. The guy at DT asked if I wanted to burn the rest of 'em off.

Road tripping to CF-IX next week will be the true test. Looking for better wet road handling at the very least. This also means I'll be able to drive on the colder Colorado mornings with no ice or snow forecasted.

I have about 3,500 miles on my Continental Extreme Contacts and I like them. Just don’t want a flat!

Yup, that's my fear. With the Run-On-Flats I had two separate incidents, one front and one rear. The front never lost pressure and was dead center of the tread (had less than 4K at the time). Goodyear patched it and sent me on my way. However the rear actually went down to 15psi before I could air it up (slow leak that sat overnight). That was on my trip back from CF-VIII last year. Goodyear was able to patch that one as well.

I’m just past 20k and I have yet to buy a replacement tire.

But I have had tires replaced 5 times and patched twice under the tire & wheel replacement warranty I bought when I got the car. So every tire has been replaced at least once. Two for broken steel belts, two for side wall ruptures and I can’t remember why for the 5th, but it was likely one of those two things. The patches were for nail-in-tread. The good thing is I haven’t had to spend for tires....yet. The bad thing is the wear is uneven, since some tires are newer than others.

I just General GMax tires on my 17 SS for the trip to cf-ix so we will see how good they work. I used them on my 2010 SS and have not had a highway problem.
