Agreed. Wish him well in his new job but will miss him as Chief Engineer of Camaro.

Hoping his new job will have some crossover. Especially after the electric COPO prototype.

I know you guys like pictures, so here is my Fifty. It was the only one available at my dealer. I was a little weary buying the RS with the V6 after driving the ZL1, but this V6 has more power than any other V8 I have ever owned. I have not done any modifications as of yet. Reading through a bunch of posts on here, I am a little curious about the shudder in my transmission, I never noticed it until I read your posts, what I noticed is when cruising, I feel a little vibration, accelerate a little and it goes away, and repeats. any help would be great.

As for the A8 torque converter shudder. It is a known issue. The past fix was to flush 3 times and replace if issue persisted. That program has since been suspended. The current direction is to flush only as a new program is coming Q1 2019. We don’t know exactly what it is but I so have some info on what it’s supposedly going to be. I posted that info several posts back.

I will repost it here for reference though so you don’t have to dig......

Some possible info about the dreaded TC Shudder Q1 2019 update that is coming.

A Head Mechanic at a Chevy dealership states that GM is coming out with a TCU flash Q1 2019 as the update to the TC Shudder. The Head Mechanic further stated the problem isn’t the actual converter or trans itself but that it’s the programming of the TCU causing what some would call gear searching, which in turn causes the shudder. The mechanic even stated the fix will apply to not only Camaros but Corvettes, Silverados and anything else running the A8 with associated TCU tune.

The TC Shudder has been found to be rectified by some HP Tuners users after adjusting certain settings which does corroborate this news.

For those affected with the TC Shudder and waiting for this new fix, it is unknown at this time if the new procedure will inspect and replace any damaged/burnished units as well as if this will be a recall or TSB.

As I find out more I will be sure to share with everyone.

Congrats on a great looking car! I can't believe you could still could find one these "new". Regarding the shudder, typically you will notice it more on light acceleration at around 40-50mph. It's very distinctive too, it will feel like you are going over rumble strips, more than a light vibration. Right now GM is working on a new fix and should have something after the first of the year, doesn't sound like you have much of a problem yet, if any. In the meantime, enjoy the new wheels!
