6th Gen Prices on the Rise?
Is it me or does anyone else notice that 6th gen prices are actually going up? I got curious and did a NADA value on my car and it's actually showing to have gone up. After looking up YoY value on CarGurus, looks like the 2019 has the best appreciation of the 6th gens considered everybody hated it so much. Lol. Looks like I made the right choice. I actually like the flow tie tbh. Still kind of shocked 6th gens didn't tank like the Mustang's did.

Non GM or Non Camaro citizens might feel the styling is too agressive... narrowing the market.
Ford fanboys will always be hating on it. But Im actually surprised they werent wildly popular given the chassis and driveline. Might lose to a MOPAR at the drags... Might not sound as good as some of the Mustangs. But overall the package is just so good. They are a great value and a real drivers car. Should be going up in value. But When I bought our 2020 there was a 2021 coup sitting there at 46 ish. Nicely set 2ss with Magride and M-6.... Both our vert and the coup were sitting long as they are July/September 2020 builds in the valve spring breakage timeframe. I just bought an extended warrantee. Not going to worry about it. But the coup is still sitting while production is halted.... Makes no sense to me... Wish I could run over and pick up the coup too. I prefer a coup but the wife has been after a vert for 30 years...

Just for fun, I just pulled the value of my car off KBB. The private party value is $2K more than I paid for the car new 3 years ago...! Granted, my car is in perfect condition and only has 8900 miles, but still. So I think the OP is onto something.

Prices are definitely going up. The demand is going to go up now that the days of high powered V8 RWD gas powered vehicles are going to be coming to an end soon.

Supply as well is a factor in price!
Chevy has been skimping and dealers don't have a big selection of gen 6. Yet the Mustang GT Ford has plentiful on their lots, new ones and lots of used ones. It's a lot easier finding a low mile Mustang GT 2015 and newer versus a 2016 Camaro SS and newer. I got a good deal on my 2016 super low mile SS last sept. If something were to happen to it and I couldn't find a SS or Scatpack at a decent price I'd probably have to settle for a cheaper priced Mustang GT and then add mods to it to make it up to par with the Camaro numbers like CAI, tune, gears. That was my plan if I didn't find a SS I liked last fall. I was going to settle for a GT and mod it to my desired results. |

Prices in Canada for used 6th gens has gone way up last couple months. Its crazy what people are asking and I think most are getting. I bought my used 17' ten months ago and could sell today for a couple grand more.

Prices on all used cars (especially trucks). The manufacture’s all are having supply chain issues.
I recently wrecked my 5.0 GT vert and the couldn’t find a close car around me to comp out. I drove it 4 years added 35k miles. I got 3k less than I paid. Came back down to earth once I realized all cars I were looking at were overpriced. Got more but had to pay more. The ended up using a combo of NADA and Kelley. So no Camaro’s aren’t going up in values it’s just all cars are selling for more than their worth. Supply chains get healthy, prices go back to normal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Prices on most all used cars are going up because of limited availability of new cars. GM, Ford, and the rest of the auto industry are dealing with material issues that has impacted production. I read today that the Corvette is going to be slowed to a stop. Shoppers are looking at used inventory because there such a limited amount of new one, this is driving used car prices up.

I've been monitoring this since spring of last year and I saw prices on used camaros jump up a good 4K for the ss and zl1 trims and now with production shut down, I don't see prices on the v8s dropping any time soon or getting any good deals on new ones.

Give it time over here. We saw this back in 08 with big tank trucks and SUV's. For many a fast car is a weekend toy.
