Was offered 30k at my dealership today, and 31k at the Dodge dealership next door.
2018 1SS 1LE with 6700 miles bought in June paid 41k otd. I told the owner of the Chevy dealership who appraised my car personally (because I bought my 16 SS and wife has bought 3 other cars including her vette.) that he must be smoking the good stuff because there is no way the car lost 14k in value in 3 months. My 2016 Chevy SS was traded in for this Maro with 48k and I got 36.5k But I was told that "the 1SS has no features and no playing field if it had been a 2ss, then I would have something." Um, am I crazy or isn't the "1LE" package something that the others don't feature MRC PPR, etc... |

Sounds more like it lost 7 or 8 grand which is not surprising. It is no secret that Camaros, and even many American cars in general, do not hold their value well.

This is true, the 1SS 1LE really seems to suffer from this. I do not think the 2SS will fair any better as time goes on either.

Buy a used car from a dealer and "it's like a new car". Bring it back the next day for trade and "we're probably going to have to wholesale this, no market for it here." The only time a dealer isn't lying is when they are closed.

Car dealers are like going to the Dr., you have to be your own advocate. I sold my leased M3 (lease was supposed to end at the end of Oct.) last month to DGDG.com (similar to CARMAX) and did very well. They will shop the car for you to their network of dealers and give you the best offer. It was painless and took like 30 mins.

The Dealership has to make $. You're driving it in and dropping it off. If you think it's worth so much more, why not sell it privately? Of course they're going to say the 1LE isn't worth Shit. If you came in with a 2SS without the 1LE , Dude would have said,,, where it the 1LE Package? Carnival Salesman looking to take your Ride. |

BTW,
You and I are in the the same boat. You paid 41K out the door for your 1LE. Damn, I paid 42.5 for my 18 1LE out the door. Sticker was around 45K. Only 2.5K off. Just run a Search on this forum... Most members here have received 7K+ off sticker on their new Camaro Purchase. LOL So,, being offered 31K for your 1LE isn't all that bad. You have to consider. Just about anyone can purchase the same brand new Camaro as yours for way under 38K. You did extremely well. |

That is why I lease, you rent the depreciation and if you really like the car you have a fixed buyout cost or you can swap into a newer Camaro in 2 years if the residual is good enough on trade in. You are in total control.

I'm not seeing any good deals on used 1LE's. I wonder if we'll see better deals come winter?

Yeah.. this is a 40k car that sells used for 35k. That doesn’t seem terrible for the first year of depreciation. Of course trade in is going to be lower since the dealer needs to make money on it.
