Hey Mike - Have you gotten and increased vibration or noises inside as a result of adding the S-Type?

Looking for help. It appears that there no options for an exhaust system or at least a cat-back exhaust system for the 6th gen convertibles, due to the bracing. If there is they are very limited. I have reached out to GIBSON performance and they told me that if I could find someone willing to go to their shop in Corona, California and let them try and fabricate an exhaust to fit the convertible, they would make one. So I thought to come here and ask. I have a contact, if there is anyone interested. I would just like to see more options for us convertible owners, a great exhaust with a more reasonable price

there are quite a few people that have installed the cat-back setups with the 6gen vert without needing to go a custom route. they also claim there is not any rubbing in the brace area.

you will need to do some digging/searching the forum to find some of the posts or maybe someone will chime in again here. good luck.

Skip the mid pipes. An axleback is all you really need.

ya - not sure the catback or axle back gains any HP over stock, so if it's just to improve the sound - axle back will do the trick. I installed a Maganflow axle back. Very happy with it. I did get some drone so I ended up doing a full dynamat type of install in the trunk. Turns out these cars have no sound deadening in the trunk at all and there is a lot of road noise coming up from that area - so that was a huge improvement overall anyway.

Yes , the Axelback will fit. The catback will not fit. I installed that exhaust on my 2017 Camaro convertible. One thing to think about, you have to cut your pipes for the install. Measure twice and cut once. For the price of that exhaust, I didn't think it was worth it after I was done. I got the carbon fiber tips.

Thinking about installing these MBRP’s, people seem to be happy with them / they’re reasonably priced and get rid of the raspiness.

On the other hand, I’m also thinking of installing custom axle back J pipes V’d to straight pipes to my existing tips. A cheap Frankenstein experiment to see if I can get rid of the raspiness...

I had seen a few axle-back options out there, I just was hoping to find a cat-back, that would delete the secondary cats, change the mid X-pipe and retain the NPP and still be a great price compared to others out there. Gibson offers that in a stainless steel, lifetime warrantied system with 4.5 in. tips for around $1,000-$1,300. It is a direct bolt on using factory hangers and no cutting. That's why I was hoping to find someone who was close to the Gibson shop, so that they could possibly make the coupe version they have now work for the convertible. I think it would not take much to make it work. The person who is close and willing to go there I believe will end up with a free, if not really cheap exhaust out of the deal too. Most cat back systems run in the $2000-$2500 range and the axle-back systems are in the $1000-$1500 range with NPP and T-304 stainless steel. So it would be an affordable option for a deep muscle car sound. I have read where the Corsa and Borla are a more raspy sound.

There is no issue with axle back. Just stick with that.
Muffler shop had my Magnaflow set on in less than an hour. A lift is a beautiful thing!
