Good point and the 6th gen would be that much better with it.

Still rubbing my genie lamp for an LT5 Camaro.

Would help differentiate the SS from the new LT1 trim (step up to an SS, get this V8) and provide a HP bump to counter Ford.

If the current Camaro does soldier on through 2023 or whatever, then sure I guess getting an updated LT1 is possible still in the 6th gen, but GM doesn't seem to do powertrain updates much in the same generation...at least not in recent years. That said, if we get a 7th gen, I'd definitely expect to get the "LT2" in it.

GM isn't going to continue to produce a performance version of the 6.2 in LT1 spec and another LT2 spec for long, in the name of cost savings, so if the 6th gen SS gets it, expect the "LT1" trim to get it also. Now that would be a real brain twister lol.

That is what I'm looking forward to seeing as well. What new engine(s) and transmissions will be part of C8.

If there is a new and more powerful LT2, it would makes sense to update the gen6 now that its life cycle has been extended

If it is really true that GM is essentially not allocating resources for a full gen 7 Camaro program, then they should at least use some resources for LT5, LT2 power plants, that would actually be good enough for me. In 5 years I'd buy a Gen 6 ZL1 with an LT5 in a heartbeat.

I think you will be off, at least on the base C8. 525HP max.

I hope you are right on the HP number, but then your pricing doesn't match.

You think it will be at least as powerful as the Z06 for about 20 grand less?

I hope I'm correct as well but I cant see them going mid-engine and not trying to make at least 50+ more hp than a mustang GT...

when the base c7 came out it was 45hp less than the c6 z06 (455 vs 505)....

the c7 z06 makes 650 so I don't feel this is unreasonable....we shall see
