Radio

I need help from someone that has the knowledge and time to explain the music options for my new 2SS that's yet to arrive. All my previous cars have had at least a single CD. I don't know anything about USB outlets, Bluetooth, and downloading music from the internet. My cell phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5. I do have an IMAC computer, but as you can tell I'm not tech savey. Anyone one out there want to try and help. Perhaps web sites that explain the process. Thanks!

Basically the simplest thing you can do if you still have a lot of CD's is to do what is called "rip" the songs from that CD into an .mp3 format. Being you have an awesome phone like the S5 and Android, you can just plug that phone into your computer via USB and you can copy and paste though .mp3 files onto the phone, basically the same way you can do with a flash drive.

What kind of music do you like, i can teach you how to get any cd you like while illegal, it can easily be on your phone in minutes. Just dowload over your cell phone network so it cant be tracked, not your wifi network.

Thanks for the information. I assume the 2SS has an AM/FM radio and that XM is available ($), right?

Yes both FM/AM and XM. XM will have a trial, think it is 3 or 6 months. I wish there was a CD player as well, bummed on that one. I will just use my phone to stream via Bluetooth or even purchase a flash drive to all of my music on and leave it in the car.

Like SSport said, best way is to rip your CDs to your PC. Since you have an iMac you probably have iTunes which is probably the easiest to do this with. I would personally recommend a USB flash drive for your songs since you could just leave it in the car. Another really good idea is to get an old iPhone or iPod and put all your songs there. The myLink systems works well with iOS for music.

That's what I did for all my new gadgets, just buy a cheap Ipod and dedicate it to car use only. The bluetooth connection will have a tutorial or help screen in the car to make sure you get connectivity. I really like sat. radio, you can beat them down on price too, just don't pop for it as soon as your trial subscription runs out. Wait a month or two. I know people that get it for $50 a year and it's worth that not to have to listen to endless commercials on old school radio.
