$10 visor mount front bumper cam

I got tired of wondering if I'm gonna scrape the air splitter on the front bumper when parking, so I picked up a camera set at an Amazon returns store for $7 & integrated the monitor into the visor. A mercury tilt switch turns it on when the visor is flipped down & off when flipped up.

I hot glued the frame into the visor, so I made a 2nd version with grooves for extra glue grip, although the smooth one worked fine for me.

probably about 5 months, but that was because of ordering switches from china, waiting 3 months without delivery, then reordering more, and waiting again.

the actual time spent including redesigns of the frame, mounting the camera, & running wires... maybe a week, at a very leisure pace.

Nice project. Did you use PLA for your final print?

Is that something you could reprint? I assume that link is a free file download for a 3D printer?

Is that visor a 6th gen? I don’t think mine has lights in it.

i would, but the price right now would be offensive. i'm currently buying a house, moving, working, & other vehicle & home projects; so basically i don't have time. i would say at least $100+camera+visor to make it worth the work for me, & i wouldn't expect anyone to pay that.

yes (see above), but another option to consider may be a wireless camera/monitor setup, but they cost a lot more. if you just want a frame printed, i'd say $20+7 shipping. again, a higher than fair price because of time.

Your convertible has a different, smaller visor. OP most likely has a coupe.

Ahh that makes sense. This is still genius and now I have to see if I can do this.
