Thx. Told Katech what I use the car for and they spec,d it. Remember this keeps VVT, just limits at certain points... I'm sure they know what they are doing... And agree them keeping the same CR @11.5 is.key. Also NOT using the gm ported heads...

Correction, I checked and they do lock out vvt. He said it is unreliable and hard to control with stronger springs.... so I was incorrect. I also asked about the gm port job and loss of compression ratio and the low end drop you saw. Appears they surface the heads to keep CR up... So appreciate your input on your results. Still going forward...

Compression is key to maintaining low-midrange torque.

I think the GMPP test car they had with the cam/heads ran in the middle 10s. I can't find the exact number. I think it also had the GMPP 8L90 torque converter too.

Thanks. Mine is 1LE and really only road course, and with manual, just need to keep it spinning. One note, once I saw the size of the dod lifters, that alone should help it rev a bit faster..

So Katech specced a cam, not the GM hot cam?

No, we are using the GM hot cam, the rest is their process and components. GM cam has less lift, but more duration than their Torquer 1 cam.

Nice, are you going E? I hope you get 20+ more than i did. Comparing numbers is far from accurate, but if it goes well, I may yank my heads off too.

No E... They did a baseline dyno run, so we will know the difference.

Also one point of compression ratio, not CC... But they listed like five items they are doing to my heads.... He also said to keep the LT2 manifold.. He said they have had good luck with them, his view was 5 HP from MSD, 911 hunting
I'm debating on having Katech do some work on my 1LE. It's nice that they pulled your motor, doing a clean job. Was that yours are their recommendation to go with the GM camshaft over theirs? Who did you use for shipping your car?
