DIY string alignment PVC rack, fast and easy to build front and rear TOE
DIY alignment
2 PVC 3/4" x 10ft sch40 pipes + 4 T + 6 elbows 2 Lead weight, Fishing line and 1 bungee cord 24" must be precise to cut the pipes at same distance Rear toe is difficult to get, after 5 attempts make the 0 toe and max camber (if you put to all - camber then toe can't get 0) On front to max -camber no problems, just remember the link is close to the axe 1 turn is 1.5mm on the tread but is almost double at the rim. To measure the camber angle I have a laser tape Bosch GLM80 and add a square tube at rim diameter, you can use a digital angle finder note I see some rulers with 2 metrics tapes but this only read the total TOE not one by one as the string alignment I do this for track alignment and go to max -camber also I enlarge the front hole camber bolts following this: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=526353 |

Interesting. I’ve seen someone build a diy kit from aluminum but not pvc. This is also the first time I’ve seen the front not hang from the engine bay. Have any close up pics of the front Pvc assembly?
I’m considering my own diy kit. Would be great to build in conjunction with installing the solid subframe bushings. |
