IMO, the Sport Cup 2 would make a more sensible DD tire than the triple8. Any bias-ply (like the triple8) tire on the street is going to be noticeably noisier than any radial.

At 85mph on a concrete highway these are ear plug worthy, and I have a trunk/rear seat full of dynamat and mass loaded vinyl!

Traction in 50-60 degree temps is pretty good. I am running rears at 32 psi cold.
I'm with the OP, due to the road noise, I'll probably try something different when these are due for replacement.

Although they look incredible on stock sized wheels.

Just wanted to add that they either got a tiny bit better over time or I'm getting used to it. Pulling a 1g on an off ramp is a lot of fun though and they can handle the power really well. It was 50F this morning, E60 in the tank, and no broken traction at all. Drove it like I stole it too. I don't think I'm going to part with them...will just deal with it and get the SC2's next time.

Almost forgot to mention these weigh 35lbs (rear) compared to 36lbs with with the MT ET Street SS DR's in the same size for anyone that's interested. Funny how my tires weigh 11lbs more than my rear wheels.

I use the R888R's as track (road course) tires, and they are annoyingly loud even for that! I wouldn't want to run them constantly on the street personally.

They can pull even more than that

Once they're in they're operating temp window ~1.4G according to the PDR.

Did you happen to run the quarter mile with these tires? I am curious how they would compare to a drag pack in terms of mph and ET.

Definitely

I have zero issue with noise. Maybe my car is just loud? They hooked great my first two times at the track but now I have 4K miles on them and they spin like crazy. 824 Rwhp
