Click noise when i shut vehicle off

Hey i have a 2018 1ss ...almost everytime i shut the car off after i driven it for a while it makes a click noise like something disengaging on the bottom... the car has 15000 miles any idea

Are you sure this isn't just the exhaust making the noise as it expands when it heats up and contracts when cools off.

Mine does something like this as well. Almost sounds like a hydraulic noise or something weird

I’ve heard it twice, more of a “clack” sound on mine. It seemed as if it was coming from the nose of the engine. The VVT solenoid/actuator crossed my mind as being the source when I heard it. Was thinking maybe it’s getting caught in a phasing cycle as the ECU learns all the parameters. I just can’t catch the sound as it’s infrequent. Hey MartyMar305 can u pinpoint where those sound is coming from? I been checking the camshaft cover area along with the A/C compressor for this sound.

Seems like its coming from like under the driver seat ...

Marty, my 2017 ZL1 does it too and sometimes a loud pop when I shut it off and it’s cooling down. Don’t think you have anything to worry about!
