Well. one positive thing I see from this post. The American authority zl1 front bumper chevyboy posted looks like it might actually be tougher that the factory fascias, being that the pass side looks intact.

I am old school and havent had a wreck in 40 years. But I wouldnt want that car back. New sheet metal is great, but how badly is it damaged underneath. Heck I am always finding finish and fit flaws in a new car, fresh off the line. Let alone something that has been put thru a blender.

Some insurance requires a rider for this kind of coverage.

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!!!! So after going back and fourth with insurance yesterday they decided to total it out. I went ahead and had it towed to my house. I have a 1600 shop where i have parted out several Corvettes over the years and kept what I wanted LOL. Insurance gave me over $40K for the car and buy back was reasonable so now I have no idea what I want to do.

Option 1- Pull drivetrain and slap it in an old school.

Option 2- Slowly repair it and use it as my beater. LOL

If you fix it to use as a driver then it will have a salvage title. Might not be good if you try and sell it sometime in the future!

Amazing they gave you so much for it. Did you have to haggle to get $40k? That is way above KBB value for these cars in used condition.

I dont see any frame damage but I have to look into it more. To be honest IF I ever sold it after it was fixed I would show the new buyer all pictures and disclose accident details. I believe in Karma. This is a sports car I wouldnt put myself or anyone else in an unsafe vehicle. Just not cool. And I wouldnt fix to sell. I would fix and put a million miles on it then likely donate it as a salvage.

Whoa there money bags, duct tape will get the job done right, you don't need to splurge on bondo to get this beaut shining again.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the buyback? Feel free to PM if you don't want it public. Just curious
