I hear you. I don't know what I am going to do yet. Like I said, I enjoy the car but I don't like this issue hanging over its head with no sure fix other than spending money on an aftermarket TC. I am not going that route. I didn't buy an over 40K new car to have to fix it myself. If I have to, I can always go back to a Challenger Scatpack. I had a 16 Scat and it was rock solid.

Challenger is a nice car, just too big for me.

Just to check, I unplugged my range and drove the car a few miles yesterday. The shudder is still fixed for now on mine. No shudder on either 4 or 8 cyl mode. Plugged the range back in and am running in all 8 all the time again. I have to admit this whole shudder thing is like a black cloud that hangs over the car. I really have enjoyed the car but this whole issue does take some of the enjoyment away because I always wonder, "Is this thing going to stay fixed or end up being a major headache?"
Definitely happening again. I drive my car a lot and it sucks to see this happen again.

I made a mistake in my original post. The rumble happens at 1500 rpm, under light throttle, and not 2500 rpm like I said at first.

Have you had the new 2019 flush yet? If not, get it done right away, it does work...will it last, who knows at this point. I only have 1500 miles or so at this point, too early for me to determine.

My last flush was 5-8k miles ago, I think it was around November or December 2018

Ok. Then you have not had the latest flush with the new fluid done yet. The new fluid only became available the first quarter of this year. Just a reminder, this thread is to track how well the latest fluid is doing for those who have had the shudder and have had the flush done with this new fluid. Unless your car was last flushed this year 2019, you have not had this latest attempted fix done yet. Thanks.

If they can’t fix it then they better bite the bullet and take this car back. And thats the thing, they don’t care. Only thing fully protects you is lemon laws and they vary by state.

Problems are back now, worse than before.

They did *not* replace the TC.

Symptoms: jerk/jolt/extremely hard shifts (usually when pulling out from in front of my house) , higher gears isnt as obvious

occasional "rumbling" as if i am going over rumble strips

on downhill/declines car freaks out and doesn't know how to downshift, RPMs jump to 2-3k and hover there while the engine howls and doesn't stop until i hard brake and bring the car to a complete stop.

So just to double check, both you guys have had your car flushed in 2019 with the latest fluid right?

Ive found that it can be replicated easily. Just coast until you see the afm drop the car to v4 (or v6 in your case i guess) then accelerate lightly. Does it all the time for me. One of the dash info pages shows when it goes from v6 to v4 or v8 to v6.

When I got my flush they said it was the new fluid with the added slip modifier (?)

Does this mean they change the fluid again, after this?

Yes, if you take the car back in for the shudder and your last flush was done in 2018, they should flush the car again and use the latest fluid that GM came out with earlier this year. The fluid has only been available since the first quarter of 2019. To make sure they are using the new fluid you can check the TSB and part numbers on your paperwork. The TSB for new flush procedure is 18-NA-355. The part number for the fluid is 19417904 if it comes out of a 55 gallon drum or 19417577 if it comes out of quart bottles. Best of luck.

Yeah take it back in, newer Mobil 1 fluid that helps with moisture supposedly. They may reprogram/relearn the TCM as well.

Thank you! Is the entire transmission getting flushed? Getting two or more free transmission flushes has been a nice silver lining to this issue.

Yes they completely flush out all the fluid, and replace with the new Mobil 1 fluid...no clue if this will last for a long time, but my fingers are crossed.
