V6 Axle Back 2.0 Compatibility

Just wondering if anyone can verify if a V6 axle back exhaust will fit/line up with the 2.0 exaust?

No clue. Have you tried asking one of the exhaust manufacturers? Aren't the V6's true dual? I know the I-4 has a single intermediate pipe that Y's to the dual mufflers.

I asked MBRP about their V6 axle back and they didn't know if it would match up to the 2.0. I think I'm just going to check out the underneath of a V6 at the local dealership. Can't find any pictures of the underside of a V6 online.

Ia there a reason you're dead set on going V6 exhaust? Is there some benefit I'm not seeing? I haven't had my first cup of coffee yet, so maybe I'm missing somethingl

Im not dead set, I just got a quad tip diffuser and the only options are Mishimoto for the 2.0. (That's fine, I really like the way their cat back sounds). There are more options for the V6 axle back quad tip, Borla, MBRP (next month), and others. Just wanted to weight all of my options. (I don't want to deal with a custom exhaust from a muffler shop).

I'm quite sure that the V6 is true dual, but both use just one muffler, and they look identical. The only difference that I've seen is forward from the axle-back, while the axle-backs look identical. Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm only basing this off of what I've seen from other LT/RS cars out on the road.

I guess it would depend on the axle back, or how far the cuts are from the suitcase muffler, as the suitcase has the same enter/exit locations. They should be identical all the way forward until the second set of hangars. I think someone mentioned Borlas quad tips only, fit the quad valance without modification to stock system.

I don't see why an axle back would differ between the two cars. They're just piping now axle forward is where the issue is.

Axle back

I have a 2.0 and I just ordered and installed about 2 months ago a MBRP axle back for a v6. It all connected the exact same. It was 359 and had a muffler delete with resonators. It’s loud on startup but not on normal driving. I personally think it sounds great but yes the v6 and 2.0 exhaust at the axle is the same.

I asked MBRP about one of their setups and here was their response:

Good afternoon Jorge,

System S7038304 will physically fit your vehicle; however we have not tested it and have no idea what it will sound like.

Thank you for your email.

Have a great day!

There will be no difference in sound other than differing the model of exhaust. Whether it is made for a v6 or an I4 will probably have no differences. The V6 axle back stuff will fit. It gets different (as someone just posted) once you go forward from the rear wheels. Your car will sound like a 4 cylinder with an exhaust.
