Do you want to go full crazy race car light? There are a lot of things if you’re willing to do that.

Remove: A/C, heater core, entire dash except for the display, header back exhaust change to lightest race system you can find (unless you have to pass noise) including cat delete, front door glass, side mirror motors and wiring, replace rear quarter windows and rear window with lexan.

If you wanna get real serious, break out the sawzall and cut out all the interior door structure except about 1-2” closest to the edge and whatever support is needed for a rope pull for the striker. Take your time and remove all unnecessary wiring.

As you know, all the little things add up. Having not yet seen a race prep Gen 6 up close, there are probably more areas to attack, often in pollution control systems.

I would say CR trunk/hood/fenders, ditch the suitcase and fab up some straight pipes to replace it for starters. Then maybe CF driveshaft and lighter rotors. Or the other way around since those are un-sprung?

You could always take a play from the drag racers, and switch to ceramic wheel bearings. They are lighter and provide the added benefit of lower rolling resistance.

Just ordered the DSS carbon. Plan to weigh both it and stock. I too am on a weight loss kick and here are my thoughts of things still to do.

Carbon twin disc clutch- 38lbs savings
Carbon hood/fenders/lid-40 to 50lbs
Front and rear crash beams removed or install lightweight ones(atleast front for tow hook)- 60lbs
Full exhaust- 30lbs

I noticed you were talking about it before but would highly recommend the AP brake setup. I didnt weigh everything but is in the 50lbs range!

The clutch is what I am most excited about!

38lbs from a clutch is huge. What brand are you going with? Got a link?

Anderson CF take the biggest bite of fat! Especially if you hang them jutted like I did.

I was a nats ass from buying AP. I was told it was 40 savings for fronts.

I know rear decklid has some weight to it. Should have weighted it when it was off but guessing 25-30.

Let me know about DSS shaft!
