I run a ipod classic works but freezes in-between many tracks, and doesnt gave a track counter.. really awful interface for such a simple item. You may want to try a different cable.

I also run an Ipod classic. I've never had a problem yet, knock on wood.

Ya know i realized the other day... they don't make iPods anymore!!!

Stopped making them in 2014.

I'd imagine iPod compatibility is low on the concern list for Manufacturers.

There's an aux input for your old obsolete devices.

ipods, zunes, older mp3 players, cd players, sony mini-disc players, walkmen tape players, etc.

One thing I liked about my 2011 Camaro is it did support my Zune over USB. Even recognized it as a Zune on the screen. I miss that thing.

That's not really true. The 6th gen iPod Touch was released in July 2015. It has not been updated since then but Apple still makes it and still sells it.

The 7th generation iPod Touch is supposedly being developed now and could be released this year.

I have a 5th generation iPod Touch and use it in the Camaro. Works perfectly through the MyLink interface. Does playlists, podcasts, shows album art, shuffle, list by artist, album, or song - works with every iPod feature as far as I can tell.

Okay, it's official now - the iPod touch is not dead.

Apple announced the new iPod Touch 7 this week. Several reviews and unboxing videos are already popping up. Looks-wise it's the same as the previous 2015 version. Improvements include replacing the A8 CPU with the new A10 version. Also has double the RAM (2GB versus 1GB), and now has either 32GB, 128GB, or 256GB flash storage. Unlike the latest iPhone, iPod Touch 7 still has a headphone jack.

If you buy a new one now, make sure it's the new iPod Touch 7 and not a leftover 5th or 6th gen iPod. The pricing is the same as the 6th gen - starting at $199 for the 32GB version.

if you buy an ipod while already having a phone ....i'm not sure identifying the generation is the most important thing to worry about.
