I think the earlier years of our ZL1s don’t have engine builder plaques SteveV. At least I have never seen one on a 2017 or 2018. Not sure about the 2019s though.

IIRC the LT4s for the ZL1 and CTS-V were assembled at the Tonawanda Plant in NY (not hand built) until I believe the 2020 model year when Bowling Green started providing them. Don't recall the reason for this. Probably due to no more Z06 LT4s there among other reasons.

Pretty sure it’s that. Some 1LE cars also have BG engines. A holdover from when some C7 LT1 engines were hand built at BG. Blackmonba6Gen has one of those engines. GM continued to source some 1LE LT1 engines at BG, even after C7 was replaced by C8 (LT2). Don’t no why, but it works out well for a lot of 1LE buyers.

I'm pretty sure it's the M6 LT1 cars that end up with the BG Performance Center engines.
