Does the factory exhaust get louder over time

Recently traded for a 2023 and it seems quieter than the 2022 I had even with the fuse pull.

Does the factory exhaust get a little louder as it gets more miles on it?

I know that HF cats will get louder over time, not sure about the stock cats...

OP, I don't believe so. I have had my 2018 since new. And I still have the factory exhaust. After 5 years, it does not appear to be any louder than when new.

Mine seems to have gotten louder. But it could also just be the cooler mornings.

Thats a great question. My intial impression is also the stock exhaust is not as loud as i expected , the pops and burbles are too much in my opinion and expected a deeper exhaust note in sports and track mode

Is there an xpipe that rectify it?

My 2017s exhaust seems to have gotten more quiet than loud and it’s set on Track mode in the exhaust.

I've read the catless mid-sections don't set a code and add a little more sound to the factory exhaust. The problem is, no one sells them anymore. You'd have to find someone to fab one for you. I'm not wanting to replace the stock exhaust and just wish it had a little more volume.

Maybe try an aftermarket X-pipe but you still will have the 4 converters though.

Anyone installed AWE catback , lots of options there and sounds much better

I cant believe why the ZL1 stock exhaust is so quiet . Coming from a vette , the stock exhaust is louder and deeper in a vette

I just moved over from a 2012ZL1 with 10% overdrive, long tubes with catless mids and the vacuum line disconnected and my 2023 ZL1 is really quiet. I am interested to see what people are doing.

Same here….
Haven’t really noticed a difference one or the other.

Myself I have found my exhaust has gotten louder over time. I like it and it’s the only reason I haven’t opted to get an aftermarket. Mind you there are times I want to get the aftermarket but there are times I am more than happy. I swear this car has a mind of its own the way it sounds at times.
